HARMONIC – not scrolling on portfolio projects (on ipad)
-
Hello. I have a couple of problems on the Harmonic theme. On the portfolio page, the ‘projects’ (text) aren’t scrolling on iPad, so only the first of the text can be read. This isn’t a problem on the PC. Also, the menu box on the front page (again, on iPad) is intermittently unresponsive. And lastly, on my mobile, (Samsung) the front-page picture won’t show, and instead of condensing the site nicely c/w image (as it does on an iPhone) it just offers a long (long) menu bar which is not very attractive. Really liking the theme – can these bugs be sorted? Thanks.

I’m having the same issue on the iPad… Wish I would’ve checked this before going with this theme.

I’ve been able to replicate this issue on iPad. I’ll report it to our developers and we’ll keep you posted here.
Also, the menu box on the front page (again, on iPad) is intermittently unresponsive.
Have you noticed if the menu is problematic on specific pages, and if so, could you link to them here?

Could you please let me know:
– specific phone model
– which specific Android OS
– which browser and versionCould you also provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing on the phone?
These items will help us replicate and hopefully fix the issue.
Thanks for the reports, we appreciate it.

Dean – are you able to scroll the demo site’s portfolio on your iPad?
-
Nick – could you please link to the portfolio where you’re not able to scroll on iPad? This is the only one I could find, but there are only three portfolio items, so it’s normal that the page wouldn’t scroll:

Dean – could you please try temporarily removing or commenting out your custom CSS to make sure it’s not interfering with the scrolling?
-
kathrynwp – It’s actually the main page that’s the problem, along with the individual portfolio project pages. Thanks.
-
Nick – thanks for clarifying. Would you mind starting a new thread so we can continue one-on-one separately, to avoid confusion? Feel free to come back and paste the new thread link here.
In the meantime I’ll have another look at your site.
-
Nick – I have some findings to share with you about your site – just let me know where you’ve started your own thread so I can help you there. Thanks.
-
Dean – I’m able to scroll your portfolio page now on the iPad – is it working for you?
-
Thanks for getting back to me, Kathryn. Regarding the scrolling on the ‘projects’ I still have the same problem on both iPad 2 and iPad Air. I checked this on the demo version of the theme too, and the same thing happens: the individual ‘projects’ will not scroll on either iPad. With the front-page menu issue, it is unresponsive on the iPad 2, but works fine on the iPad Air. And re my phone: it’s a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i. And as I say, the site works perfect on PC, iPhone 5, and Mac.

And re my phone: it’s a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i.
Thanks for giving me the phone model. In order to troubleshoot, it would be helpful to know the other two items I mentioned:
– which specific Android OS are you using
– in which browser and version do you see the issueThanks also for clarifying on which iPad models you’re unable to scroll the portfolio. I initially thought I could replicate the issue on my iPad mini retina, but now scrolling is working on your site’s portfolio, so it looks like further investigation is needed. We’ll keep you posted here.

While we’re at it, could you please let me know both the iOS and browser you’re using on each iPad? These specifics will help us try to replicate and hopefully fix the scrolling issue. Thanks!

Re: the phone details, I’m not sure (can’t find the relevant info – sorry) but it’s two years old. With the iPads, they both use Safari, and they are both iOS 8. The menu box (front page) on the iPad 2 will only work if you start the video (lower on the page). As I say, really liking the theme, and would certainly like to stick with it, but the frozen scrolling on the projects (on iPad) and the faulty menu box seem big problems. Can these issues be resolved?

I’ll report the iPad issues to our developers so they can have a look now that we know the OS and browser – thank you.
For the Android issue, if you’d be able to do what I asked earlier, it would be very helpful:
Could you also provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing on the phone?
Just upload it to your Media Library and I’ll be able to see it there.
Here’s a guide to checking your Android version – could you take a look and let me know what version you have?

And here’s how to find your browser information:
http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/8724/how-do-i-check-which-browser-im-using
Once I have the Android details and screeenshot I’ll be able to report that issue as well.

Hello again, Kathryn. The phone details are: Android 2.3.6 and the browser is (I think) UNA2. The site now seems to fit onto the screen, but not in a mobile-friendly way, just a mini-version of, and the menu bar has now adopted a menu box – which doesn’t work. Expanding makes no difference. The front page picture still doesn’t show – just a white space.
-
Thanks for the phone details – we’re nearly there. :-) Could you please upload a screenshot in your Media Library?
Here’s how if you’re not sure: http://lifehacker.com/5994516/how-to-take-a-screenshot-on-android
Thanks.

Nick and Dean – are you still having intermittent trouble clicking the mobile menu on iPad? That particular issue looks like it’s gone away on our end, could you confirm when you have a moment? Thanks.
-
Dean – I noticed that you’re hiding your site’s footer credits with CSS, which is something that’s not allowed here on WordPress.com, where everyone, including VIP bloggers, must maintain their credits.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
You may tweak the look-and-feel as long as the credits are still readable. I tried out this custom CSS on your site and I think it looks good, while still being legible:
.site-info, #colophon .site-info a { color: #666; font-size: 90%; }Here’s what it looks like: https://cloudup.com/cW2FjWdwvb9
I’ll let you go ahead and make the changes so you don’t run into any issues with our Terms of Service team.
Just let me know if you have any questions about this. Thanks in advance.
