Harmonic theme change front page white line

  Hi,

  I need your help regarding the white line that appears above the video I embedded on my front page – I want to remove it, since it looks like a mistake in combination with the video. Any quick help regarding this is highly appreciated!

  You could try either of these, but I worry that it will mess something else up on your site.

  One more thing though: there is this thick black bar at the bottom of the page. Is there any way to make it slimmer, corresponding to the black bar at the top of the page?

  You mean the one with “Blog at WordPress.com. | The Harmonic Theme.” in it? Unless my eyes deceive me, that looks to be the same width as the bar containing your menu at the top.

  If that is the one, you could try this:

      padding: 0px 40px;
  }

  Hey dasschultemn,

  thank you very much, unfortunately, it didn’t work.

  It just looks weird with the thick black at the bottom.
  I tried uploading a bigger picture (1920×1012) and adjusted the media settings for the pictures accordingly, but that didn’t help either…

  Hi @WeAreSisyphos

  Do you mean that you would like the background image to somehow automatically scale itself, so that it fills the background regardless of the size of the window it is viewed in?

  That is not really going to be possible with this theme, and it is likely that some visitors will see a black bar of one size or another. One possible solution is to prepare your background graphic (in a photo editing app) so that it fades to a solid color by the time it reaches the edges of the image.

  That way you can set a solid color for the background that matches, and always have a seamless fade.
