Has my account been hacked? What is @dmail1.net?
-
I have a WordPress website. In the Users section in the dashboard, I found the following odd-looking username and email address listed as a Customer: Username, 158864774245df6c83538cfe947baff1c59f6d073b. Email, (email visible only to moderators and staff). I have no idea who or what this email address goes to or if its malicious.
Also weird, if I click Delete under one of my authentic customers, the next page asks, ‘What should be done with content owned by this user?’, and prompts me to select one of two options: 1: Delete all Content. Or 2: Attribute all content to: 158864774245df6c83538cfe947baff1c59f6d073b.Anyone know what this ‘Customer’ is on my WordPress site?

Hi there,
Is this on https://shopkitschy.com/? We have no control over user accounts on that site, as the site is not hosted with us.
Please ask for advice from the WordPress.org community who provides support for the WordPress software you’re using on that site instead:

Hello,
I’m confused. Yes, that is the correct website. But didn’t I post my question in the WordPress community forum? The top of my page says WordPress.com Forums/Support. The website is hosted by HostGator and built on WordPress.

To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org and they are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
As @kokkieh mentioned, we are not able to help with your site because it is not hosted on our servers. You can post on the community forums here:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
I hope that helps :)

Yes, it does help and until now I did not notice a difference – that there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org – two separate identities. This probably explains some of the confusion I’ve had in other areas, as well. At least now I know to look for .org, so thank you both so much for explaining. Take care.
