Has something happened or changed with the top posts and pages widget?

My top posts and pages widget used to pull through an image of the post in question, but I noticed today the images had all switched to the favicon icon for my blog, ie a small picture of my face for each post, not ideal! Has something changed for this widget or has it broken? I cleared cache and cookies and checked in a couple of browsers (ie and firefox), but had the same problem. Also, my browsers are running the latest, up-to-date versions, in case that was also a problem. Also tested on my phone (android) and the problem showed there too. So I guess it’s a wordpress issue, not a device issue?

I tried making the widget inactive, then active again, but the problem remained. Whatever has happened to the widget means it no longer looks as good or appealing as it did before, in terms of making people want to click on top posts on my blog. My current fix is to make the top posts widget text only links. But I much preferred when it was text and images, more appealing for people browsing my content.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks
