Has WordPress had any issues on mailing out notifications to followers?

    I just posted an new article at my blog. Usually, I get responses and comments. I have 561 followers. One man in particular writes in every time I post. He always says something about killing Jews and I delete it as soon as I find it. He might even be Jewish. But this latest post had no comments and replies at all. Is there a WordPress issue about notifying followers? I wrote to a fellow blogger. He said he has had problems with Akismet. I heard the term but I don’t know what it is exactly and how it works. Could Akismet relate to my problem?
    Could I manually force the system to send out email notifications of my latest article to my 561 followers? Thanks.

    Howdy horse237!
    Just ask some of your followers to check in Spam folder, if the email has gone there, update it if so. Akismet is in built in WordPress.com sites, its a anti-spam service you can know more about it here https://akismet.com/
    But, WordPress.com has it configured for all the websites, you need not worry about it.
    Also, just have a look if your comment settings are correctly configured, https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/

    You cannot send out email’s manually from WordPress but use external services, you can collect emails using Contact form and Subscription Popup and then manually send them emails from the third party, to explain it better have a look here https://en.support.wordpress.com/subscriptions-and-newsletters/

    A fellow WordPress blogger suggested that my crazy trolls have gone on vacation or had a PC meltdown.

    The email notifications of this post were delivered to your email followers. I’ve checked that in our logs. Do you know of a specific user who reports not being notified of the post?
