Hash Tags for SEO help on Blog posts?

    When you create a blog post…I was reading online that adding TAGS mostly help the viewer navigate through your blog…but don’t actually do much in terms of helping SEO visibility.
    Is this true?

    I also heard there are some plug ins that will help turn your blog tags so that they ARE in fact more helpful to SEO….is that true?

    Or….should I just be adding actual # Hash Tags to the bottom of each blog post?

    Yes. It’s true. Use Google search to find what Matt Cutts of Google has to say. It amounts to that fact that so many tag spammers have added irrelevant spammy tags that the algorithm is focused on keywords in your content. If the tags are not supported by the content in a post the search spiders can detect that and the post will be hurled to where the sun don’t shine in the SERPS (search engine page results).

    That said, you are posting to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here with that site at all. We provide support only for blogs hosted by wordpress.COM and no others and that site is not one of them.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.     So basically you are saying I shouldn’t worry about tagging that much in the blog post and just make sure my actual blog context is packed with relevant words correct?
