How to get # to work I’ve downloaded the plugin but it still doesn’t link ?

You can edit the facebook and twitter Publicize message in the Post Editor Sharing tab to manually add #hashtags. I can only assume that it works the same way for the other Publicize methods, but I have no personal experience of them.

Regarding plugins, the ability to upload plugins is available on standalone WP (org) sites. We have a number of plugins built into the WordPressdotcom platform, but cannot upload any other plugins.

OK, 1. where is the Post Editor Sharing tab? And, 2. if you put a hashtag in the title of your post, then share via Twitter when you publish, it will automatically show the hashtag as a live Twitter hashtag in your feed. (Well, I’ve done it once and it worked that time.) It doesn’t work for Facebook for which you’d have to put the hashtag in the first line or two of the body of your post, I’m guessing.

Sorry for the late reply. If you’ve connected your site by Publicize to Facebook and Twitter:
Calypso/New Post Editor: You’ll find the Sharing tab on the right after you click Post Settings.
WP Admin Post Editor: The Publicize to FB/Twitter is a part of the Publish module on the right.
In both places you can add hashtags as a part of your customized FB post/tweet.
I’m not entirely sure whether this will work “as advertised” on FB as I have not connected FB to my posts.
Let me know how that goes.
