  Hi. There appears to be a lot of white space on the blog pages. Is this normal or have I missed a setting or two?

  You might try posting larger versions of your photos. If you compare your site to the demo site: http://hatchdemo.wordpress.com/ you’ll see how bigger photos take care of the “empty” look.
