Hatch theme – layout flexibility question
-
When using the Hatch theme: is it possible to copy blog articles that appear on the landing page as thumbnails so that they appear in separate categorised pages ? For example – those blog posts with recipes in them could then be found not only on the landing page but in a separate tab headed ‘Food’ enabling readers to go straight to the food section and find all blog articles relating to food repeated there ? ie is it possible to re-catalogue blog articles into individual pages accessed via the top right hand corner alongside ‘home’ and ‘about’ in addition to finding them in the thumbnails on the landing page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Whether or not the dynamic Category and/or Archives pages generated by the software when we publish posts display thumbnail images, permalinked titles or titles and excerpts is theme dependent.

http://hatchdemo.wordpress.com/In most themes what is displayed will be the same display as what’s found on the front page which by default displays all published posts or the blog page designated for posts when a static front page is created.
I don’t use Hatch and cannot provide a definitive answer so I’ll tag this thread for a Themes Staff response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you – the Hatch theme does publish thumbnail images on the front page and by clicking on them it takes you to the relevant blog article. My question is how do I publish and catalogue blog posts within individual sub-headings in the header bar in addition to having them feature on the landing page as thumbnails. I am trying to figure out if it’s possible and if so how it’s done. Appreciate you getting back to me.

Hi! To answer your question:
My question is how do I publish and catalogue blog posts within individual sub-headings in the header bar in addition to having them feature on the landing page as thumbnails.
You can achieve this by categorizing your posts and linking to each category in the header bar. I can see that you already have a few categories created. What you should do now is assign your posts to a category. Go to your posts panel here:
https://casitalimonloves.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
And click on “Quick Edit” while hovering your mouse over the post title. You’ll see a list of categories with checkboxes beside them. Click the appropriate boxes then click “Update”. Do this for all your posts. You may also click on the post title to edit a post individually.

Next, let’s add the categories to your header menu. Go to Appearance -> Menus in your dashboard:
https://casitalimonloves.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
Click on “Categories” on the left and click the “View All” tab. Add all categories by clicking on the checkboxes and the “Add to Menu” button.
I went ahead and did this for you. If you need to add more categories, feel free to come back to that page and follow the same steps.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks!
