Hate Block Editor but Can't Switch Back to Classic Editor

Recently transferred an old blog of mine to a new account and deleted its content to start with a rebrand + relaunch… On my old account, I switched back to and used the classic editor just fine. But after transferring it to the new account, I’m stuck on the block editor and none of the Google-able solutions / options for changing it are appearing.
Creating a new post and clicking on the “…”, the option to switch does not appear; entering the wp-admin panel, clicking on “settings” and selecting the “writing settings”, the option does not appear; switching themes from my original (Toujours- which is also currently being used on my other WP with classic editor just fine) to another theme compatible with the classic editor, the option does not appear.
To reiterate: I have used all of the suggested fixes that I can find on Google, short of installing a plugin (I am, and plan on remaining, a free user)… Nothing has worked.
Am I just stuck like this now? Because this editor is literally the worst, and I really don’t want to be stuck with it.

Added note, because I’ve seen this mentioned by people before when others have asked for this same solution: I’m not new to Block Editors. I’m more than familiar with several iterations of this technology having worked as the Blog Team Lead for a company that required its use. So ,y dislike of it isn’t due to a lack of experience with it, or a lack of understanding as to how systems like these function.
I just literally hate everything about the way they function; the entire block editing system isn’t nearly as “intuitive” as devs claim it is. Far from it, really. It makes writing more convoluted and difficult than it honestly needs to be.
