HATING the new editor
-
Change for change’s sake does not equal good change. Why do you people always have to break things in order to ‘fix’ them? Or is it all a money grab? I see that a lot of us are displeased with the new editor, and I see I can restore the classic editor by adding a plug-in. Oh, but I can only add the plug-in if I have a paid account. Okay, I see the little game. Really pisses me off, but I don’t want to change all my blog addresses, move to a different platform, and start fresh. So I’m staying. But I at least wanted to register my dissatisfaction. I used to recommend wordpress to new bloggers. I will not be doing that anymore. Anyone I know starting up a blog I’ll be telling them to find a different platform.

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
For more details, please see https://wordpress.com/blog/2020/08/13/the-classic-editing-experience-is-moving-not-leaving/
We do recommend the new editor though, and we have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
