Have a Launch Gallery Button w/no Thumbnails on page?
-
Hi!
I am in the process of customizing my page, and I am having trouble getting what I want with the image gallery options.
What I would like to do is to not have any thumbnails on the page, and, instead, have a “Launch Gallery” button. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks!

One way to do this is to make an entirely separate page for the Gallery and the “Launch Gallery” button/link will link to it, rather than embedding the Gallery directly in the post or page.
You’ll then want to use a Custom Menu to keep that separate page out of the navigation menu. See these resources:

I’m not clear where you want to put your gallery. You could use pagination to make a text (or custom button image) link to a “page 2” on a post or on a page.

You would not need CSS to do what jennifer suggested. Nor would you need it for my idea.

Great idea, 1tess! I keep forgetting about the pagination option. :)
Just a thought though that when using pagination, you would still see the “Pages 1, 2” in addition to any special link/button added in the post.
