Have a suggestion about photo galleries

  Let me start wishing all wordpress.com family a happy new year.

  My concern is about photo galleries. They are perfect way of photo supported stories.

  Unfortunately, the texts (written in caption and description) are seen very ineffectively.

  Descriptions are a little better than captions, but since they’re at the bottom, I prefer using captions and descs at the same time.

  I strongly suggest to have some options to be able to show descriptions of photos in a more readable way so that they become an important part of the gallery,

  Thank you for your interest.. Below you can find an example from my blog.. There are lots of texts with photos, but they are out of focus..

  I see. The descriptions of the images are cut off in the gallery because of the thumbnail size. I recommend to increase the thumbnail size using the instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

  I got it. Thank you, good to know it..

  But that helps only when you want to show all pictures on your post..

  If you want to use Carousel when you prefer so Show each info one by one, than description becomes a lonely, small, and uninteresting part of the gallery.. :(

  I would be happy if I have the option determine the font of the text.. Also a text next to (not under the) Picture may be a great solution for me..

  I understand your concern but if the sentence is too long the text will be cut off anyway, regardless of having a smaller or different font.

  You can use a shorter caption so it fits the thumbnail area and use a description to be displayed in the carousel view.

  No, you got me wrong..

  The problem in Carousel is not the amount of text.. It shows the description far below.. and too small..

  I don’t have problem with the thumbnail.. On the contrary, after your advice, it becomes a solution..

  But I still think that wordpress has to improve Carousel considering the texts..
