HAVE I BEEN HACKED – OR DONE SOMETHING WRONG?

    HELP!

    I may have done something wrong in setting yesterday, as 21 new posts (not written by me) have appeared on my blog and set out as news to my subscribers.

    Please help….

    Hi,

    It appears that your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, which is what this forum is designed to help with. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You may be able to find help here: https://wordpress.org/support/ or alternatively contact your hosting provider.

    Hope this gets fixed soon!

    Hi there,

    I see no suspicious activity on your WordPress.com account, so those posts were not published from our end unless someone already had possession of your WordPress.com account password. I see you’ve already updated that, which is a good first step.

    So if something has been compromised, it’s likely with your site itself. Make sure to also change the admin password for your site at Users ->My Profile in WP-Admin, and change the passwords on your hosting account and your email account, to be on the safe side. Please ask in the WordPress.org forums or contact your hosting provider for more help with this.
