Have I lost my Domain?

  Hi I set up this blog for a charity organisation in Vietnam. Unfortunately they have lapsed the domain. A quick check on whois seems to suggest that though lapsed it is on “hold” – however I can’t seem to work out how to buy it back via WordPress.

  Any support you can offer would help. Thanks.

  If the name is in redemption or Grace period then you need to contact the original Registrar for help. If it is WordPress.COM then contact the staff here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  You will be charged extra and that charge is determined by the Registrar not WordPress.COM – if the domain name is not registered with WordPress.COM then you need to contact the original Registrar – you don’t want the name to revert to the wild or you might not get the domain name back- there is an industry that buys names that come out of registration and hold the names for hostage.
