Have mapped my domain name, how long b4 my site shows up?

  • Unknown's avatar

So I have mapped my domain name, updated my name servers with my domain name provider, and edited my DNS records. However, my site is still not showing up when I put the domain name in my browser’s search bar. Is there anything else I need to do? How long do I need to wait for my log to update?

    It’s http://www.pinkprosthetics.com.au

    Thanks.

Changing a domain name doesn’t automatically list the new domain on search engines. That name starts at ZERO search engine ranking. The time for it to show up in search engines is slightly shorter than the time it takes for a brand new website to show up: it can be up to two months. If you want it to show up in search engines faster, blog more.

    Hi there,

I opened your URL. It opened correctly for me. I’m in Indonesia by the way.

Generally, DNS propagation might take up to 72 hours. In my personal experience, it usually took less than that. You don’t really have to do anything else, just wait a bit!

(Ah, I might have misunderstood your question. @raincoaster explained things better there)

I thought the same as you and was halfway through the answer before I re-read it. Between the two of us we’ve got it done, though, I’m sure.

    Hi,

All good, it’s showing up now.

hfzrhmn was correct, I wasn’t referring to Google search ranking but about my site propagating onto the www.

    Thanks for your responses.
