Have there been changes to "like" options?
-
When I started blogging here, I changed the setting to remove Likes from posts. But it was still on the Admin bar, the staff then removed that if your settings were not allowing likes. I am living with the Likes that come through the front page reader, even though it is not my preference.
I noticed someone was able to “Like” a post because of that bright orange notification thingie and looking at my stats via Statcounter it looked as if they did it from the post page itself. This is the link:
http://thebirdingbunch.com/2012/04/23/grack-is-a-verb/?like=1&_wpnonce=fe3a18b8c4I checked individual posts and found that the Like option is back up on the Admin bar. Can that please be removed, or please direct me to a setting to get rid of it? When I looked at my Sharing settings, it showed the likes are “turned on per post” and when I start or edit posts they box for showing Likes is unchecked.
I understand many people like receiving them and giving them, but I would think if a blog author chooses not to have them that we can have this choice. There have been several changes here since I joined. Some I’ve not been thrilled with, but I’ve gotten used to them over time or adjusted. Because I’ve never been into the whole facebook thing, this Like feature is one I do not appreciate on my blog.
Thank you for any help.

After a bit of looking, I saw there have been changes. But I guess my concern still is if someone does NOT want likes, can we have the option of removing them all from our blogs?!
Ah, if I could go back to the days of maintaining my own site. We moved so no longer have the IP who gave use space to do this with. I was able to learn simple HTML through that time and didn’t deal with any changes other than what I chose to do myself. :)
