Have two accounts need to combine

  • Unknown's avatar

I have two accounts. Imperialcruisetravelblog.com (I own this domain) I need to have imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com combined with imperialcruisetravelblog.com. But I want to keep the template that I paid for in imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com. Can someone please help me with this?

I would really appreciate the help. I ask for help on this matter previously and was told that it was done, but unfortunately it was not. I really need to get this taken care of.

    Thank you so very much.

    Confirm Primary Blog Settings
You’ve set a different domain (imperialcruisetravelblog.com) as primary for imperialcruisetravelblog.wordpress.com. Although you can map more than one domain to your blog, only one can be primary. To read more about setting a primary domain, please see this documentation.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/#setting-the-primary-domain

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase upgrades for the blog.

If you own a domain then see here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

    Hi there,

I moved your domain mapping upgrade for imperialcruisetravelblog.com to your blog at imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com, so visitors to your domain will see that blog.

But I want to keep the template that I paid for in imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com.

Your blog imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com is using the Chateau theme, but you also purchased the Scrollider Express theme for your blog imperialcruisetravelblog.wordpress.com. Do you want to transfer that Scrollider Express theme over to your blog imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com, too?

I want imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com to be moved to imperialcruisetravel.com. But keep the template for …dotorg.wordpress. If that is possible.

    Hi there,

Right now, your domain imperialcruisetravelblog.com is linked to imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com. You can view that here:

    http://imperialcruisetravelblog.com/

If that isn’t what you’re looking for, can you describe exactly how you want it to look?

You also mentioned the domain imperialcruisetravel.com. That domain isn’t linked to your WordPress.com account or a WordPress.com site — are you wanting to move your blog to that site, or to your domain imperialcruisetravelblog.com? I just want to make sure I understand what changes you are hoping to make. :)

I’m so confused right now. UGH!!! Okay. I want imperialcruisetravelblog.com to be linked to my domain (www.imperialcruisetravelblog.com) that I purchased from GoDaddy. Right now …dotorg.wordpress.com is linked to that domain. So, I want the …dotorg.wordpress.com removed (but I want to keep the template that I purchased for that blog). Then I want imperialcruisetravelblog.com linked to its proper domain (www.imperialcruisetravelblog.com) and linked to my website http://www.imperialcruisetravel.com.

Did I confuse you? It sounds confusing. LOL But I really, really appreciate your help.

    Hi there,

I’m going to take a step back and make sure we’re on the same page about your blogs and how you want everything set up, because I’m a little confused. :)

Right now, you have two WordPress.com sites with these free addresses:

Your WordPress.com sites will always have those free addresses — we use those addresses to make sure nothing ever happens to the content there even if you change the custom domain name you use with a site. If you add a custom domain name to a WordPress.com site, that free address will still be there behind the scenes, but visitors will only see the custom domain name.

Your custom domain name imperialcruisetravelblog.com is linked to the site with the free address imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com. That means you’ll see that blog’s content when you visit your domain name here:

    http://imperialcruisetravelblog.com/

The website at http://www.imperialcruisetravel.com/ is completely separate from WordPress.com. It’s hosted at Wix, so it doesn’t use WordPress at all.

If you have any questions about that information so far, please let me know!

As I mentioned above, the free address imperialcruisetravelblogdotorg.wordpress.com will always be linked to your WordPress.com blog. However, as long as your domain name imperialcruisetravelblog.com is linked to that blog, that’s the only domain name or address that visitors will see there. When you visit http://imperialcruisetravelblog.com/ does it look the way you want it to?

@lw07 — To avoid confusion, please contact us directly or start a new forum thread so we can help you separately from this forum thread. Thanks!

Actually, yes it does. You explained it perfectly. I totally did not understand it before. I was totally, I mean totally in the dark about that. I read and read it but it did not click until you explained that way. I cannot express my appreciation for your help. You have made my day. Now if only Wix could import WordPress I’d be in heaven! LOL

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks again for you awesome help! :)
