Haven't received a .net domain that I bought a week ago

  • Unknown's avatar

It’s been a week since I bought my domain (a .net domain) last Thursday April 19th. My credit card was already charged right after, but I haven’t received my domain yet. That is, the domain that I already paid for has not shown up in the Domains (Settings). I am tempted to ask for a refund.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sometimes the domain registration fails for some reason – do a whois to see if the domain has been registered – (or go to the domain name site)

I have flagged this for staff attention – the normal process is for the staff to issue you a refund if the registration failed and you just register the domain name again – WordPress.COM has a very good record of only charging you for services delivered.

  • It looks like the registration never went through, so I have added $25 in credit to your account.

Please feel free to try again and let us know how it goes!

Do you mean my credit card or my word press account?

Credits have been added to your WordPress.com account, so when you add the domain again via your Store > Domains page, the $25 will be applied and you will not have to pay by the credit card again.

    Hi,

Thank you for reimbursing me $25 credit in my account. I can see that it’s there.

However, while I was attempting to buy the same .net domain that costs me $25 last time, this time the cost does not match $25 credit that I got reimbursed for not getting my domain at the first place. It actually ask me to pay an additional dollar. To be honest, I don’t mind paying an extra dollar, but the fact that I have to pay any additional cost at all bothers me.

So to be simple, I just want to get a refund to my bank account. Could you please help me with that?

    Thank you,

staff-blorbo – are you sure about the $ 25.00?? A .net domain should be $18- (including mapping) then add $ 8.00 if they opted for the privacy upgrade for a total of $26.00 if my fingers and toes are correct.

A .me domain would have been $25.00 – but the OP indicates they did not try and register a .me domain.

I think you owe them another dollar.

I will flag this for staff attention and review.

Yes. The first time I attempted to buy a .net domain, the cost showed up as $17 plus $8 for a private one.

Anyway, to be simple, I just want my money back. So I would be appreciated if word press organization could give me a $25 refund to my bank account.

    Thanks,

Sorry you weren’t happy with the domain registration process. I just refunded your $25. Please let us know if we can do anything else for you.

  • Just to clarify, we have had to increase the price of domain upgrades by $1 due to rising costs.

    Hi,

Sorry but I still haven’t seen the reimbursement on my credit card. Just want to make sure, did u refund the $25 to my credit card or my account? I want to have my refund back to my credit card please.

    Thanks

  • The refund left our account April 27, and depending on your credit card provider, it can take up to 10 days to appear on your statement.

If you don’t see it by Tuesday, I recommend contacting your credit card provider.
