Having a page directly link to another wordpress.com blog
-
We should be able to have a page that, when clicked, can automatically redirect the user to another wordpress.com blog. This allows us to merge two blogs into one platform – much easier for readers to keep track of!
Can we do this? How can we do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Create a custom menu on one blog (or both) and include a custom link in it to the other blog (and visa versa if you want to have links to each blog in the other).

There’s no need to have an upgrade at all. You can create a custom menu on any WordPress.COM blog free of charge. :) If there had been a need to upgrade I would have clearly stated that above.

OK, now I’m confused. Is it strange that there is no option for “Appearance” on my dashboard?
-
Why are you asking about Appearance? In what way does that relate to creating a a custom menu and adding a custom link into it?
The answer is: In no way, so I guess you are asking a different question now for a different reason. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to > Settings > Appearance.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility -
Hi there, thanks for your help. Contrary to what you say, the first link you provided me asked me to go to from “Appearance –> Menus” to create a custom menu. I do not know how to do this. Thanks again for your help.

Oh! Now I see what you mean. I am sorry. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to > Dashboard > Settings > Appearance > Menus

P.S. For your WordPress.COM blog you have three free workaround forum options: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/
One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.
a custom link to the forum in it. Another is to use the P2 theme which is designed for conversations. The only chat widget we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs is found here http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/tlk-io-widget/

Wow, that’s pretty cool. Will keep it all in mind as I’ll certainly be using those options in the near future!
