Having an address database on a website. And to have a formula calculator

    Hi WordPress. I want to create a website with for optometrist professionals.
    I need to store loads if addresses on somewhere Ie hospital practice addresses with numbers , optician practices. I would like people to type in a name/postcode of an address on a search bar and then the closest matches come up. I have no idea how to get started. I would also like a calculator or a way I could type in someone’s glasses prescription and the using a formula if would work out a contact lens prescription. Is there a way I could do this? I feel this would be an essential tool for us professionals and if I could get it working it would be greatly popular

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately there is no way to create additional databases on a WordPress.com website. The type of programing which you’re talking about for computing contact lens prescriptions is not something which we’d be able to help you with either, I’m afraid.

    You may want to consider contacting a web programing professional who can assist you with designing the type of website which you’re looking for. A self-hosted WordPress.org site could certainly serve as a front-end to such a website, but there would need to be some additional work put in to make the back end work as you’ve described.

    Due to my ignorance I went on the wrong site (wordpress.com)
