Having difficulty in writing right to left language (Pashto) in online editor

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi;
    I’m having problem in writing right to left language (Pashto) in editor, for example the title of the post always come left aligned can not move it to the right as it should appear. also, in the body of the post, I cannot appropriately design the text apart from right justifying it, for example the bullets always come on the left side it should come on the right side as the sentence start, it is always like I’m writing it in the LTR language editor
    I have extensively searched your FAQ and support database but couldn’t find anything helpful for online editor, I would greatly appreciate your support on the matter.

    Regards;

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    I was able to replicate all your issues except the bullets. They appeared on the right for me when testing the editor in Pashto:

    Cloudup icv4zqzqy25

    ( I was using text from you blog as material, but on a testing-only private blog.)

    The indentation buttons are meant to be left the same, because they’re actually labelled as “increase indent” and “decrease indent” buttons, not necessarily directional. The icon may be somewhat misleading, but the button name could help fix the issue. WordPress is always incorporating translations; if you would like to help, could you please provide a translation of those two phrases into Pashto in GlotPress:

    I have however alerted our team to the incorrect alignment in the title field.

    Thank you for the report!

    Best,

    -Alex G.

    Thank you Alex G. for your quick response, I understand that bullets do work in the editor, but when you publish the post the bullets comes on the left side (my apologies for the confusion in my question)
    I published another blog, where I used special characters for the bullets.

    Hello again,

    Thanks for that clarification and I’ll adjust my request with the development team accordingly. :)

    Hi,

    Things should be better now – we’ve changed some configuration with regards to the definition of Pashto as a right-to-left language.

    Let us know if you notice any additional problems.

    Hi again;
    First of all thanks for your prompt support, I see an improvement there both in the online editor and bullets shown while the post published.
    There are still some minor issues which I would like to address e.g. still having problem with writing English within Pashto specially in title it disorganizes the whole text, also now the blog page looks right to left even the English text is little disorganized. I think the right to let is applied universally so everything is changed.
    I would like to help with the translation as well as design, I tried the link in my admin area (translate wordpress.com) but it doesn’t go anywhere.
    You can directly contact me if required.

    Hi there,

    Inserting left-to-right language text inside of a blog which is set to right-to-left and getting poor results is a current known issue which we are working on.

    We would definitely appreciate any help with translation which you can provide! We have a system set up called GlotPress which allows contributors to help translate WordPress.com in to a variety of different languages. You can find information about it right here:
