Having Much Trouble making changes to my website

My developer wants to totally disable my website, StevenReak.com, because he cannot make any changes on it and he keeps coming up with error messages when he tries. Hes done the updates, but for some reason, he isn’t able to make any changes, so he wants to start completely over from scratch. Why ? Why is he having so much trouble doing ANYTHING ? I need some fairly simple changes made and added to the website, but he keeps running into more and more problems. Whats going on? Is this common with WordPress ? I thought WordPress was supposed to be easy to use. Is he going to have to completely start over ever few years ? Why is he having soooo much trouble ??

The website was started about 5 years ago, and my developer hasn’t made any changes on it for about 2 years. Why isn’t WordPress working ??

I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with another company.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. I contacted Network Solutions and they said my website is loading properly, visible and working, and that it must be a WordPress issue.
