Having my readers have to view as many have their sites set that way

I looked it up on FAQs and while I see some answers they are either old or I do not have the same searches available on my admin section. I have it where I just started hitting the read more section which I know does the trick but they can also just click the like and share at the bottom without having to read. I saw answers for things where I had to look for folders and changing php files I believe and I do not see those and I was going to play around with a featured photo and while it says what the dimensions are for a header photo I have ones comfortably within range and I get one tenth for a header. I know I can play around with an image re sizing tool but if it is already under the max I do not see what the issue is. I also see where it seems that a lot of bloggers have to basically write code to change their sites. I saw having to paste code into any part of any page with no way to do it from the tools I see here. On my web.com site I can paste and embed code but I do not see how to here. The only place I see tools on here are on the tools in the editor if I go to expand the tools. I have seen people that change the width and height of the header photo, not that I really want to but I want to know how and if it will effect the title as when I put my business card it basically took my title out. I played around with using the home page as a static page and I see how you can have separate pics and set ups for as many pages as you want but going back to the header photo, if I can’t do that and having people have to click a post or title without just rapid fire liking as I go through some people’s sites and it takes forever. If I can get current answers on that based on me using a mac as opposed to what I think in some instances were app on phone directions including backing up their site and restoring, again, I do not see any objects for that either. IDK what I am missing.
