having old name of the website back
-
Hello,
I have deleted my .wordpress blog and lost the name that I was using (eg. I deleted name.wordpress.com). I would like to get it back but wordpress does not give the option to have this name again, it gives me other options such as nameblog.wordpress.com.
What can I do?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @endivemoledotcom,
Unfortunately, deleting a site is a permanent action. If you deleted the site you won’t be able to re-use its WordPress.com address again (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
Just to be sure though, it might be best to have staff take a look at this. What is the domain of the blog that was deleted? If you’ll post that here, I’ll make sure to add the modlook tag to this thread so they can take a look. Thank you for your patience as you await their reply.

Howdy –
Unfortunately, site deletion is permanent and I’m not able to restore endivemole.wordpress.com
More details about that are available in this guide:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/As for the username, if you can access the account then you can use it again. First, I’d try to reset the password and if that doesn’t work go through account recovery: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Thanks for replying with that information. Based on what I am seeing here and here, it looks like you will not be able to use endivemole.wordpress.com as the domain or endivemole as the username again. Once a site is deleted and once a username has already been used, it doesn’t appear that there is a way to get those back again.
That said, I’ll leave the modlook tag in place so staff can confirm.
Best of luck!

Yes, you can. endivemole.wordpress.com is not going to be able to be used again. You can register a new site address by clicking on My Sites > Domains > Add.

staff-zinnia I am trying to register endivemole.wordpress.com which was my old wordpress address.

endivemole.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.staff-zinnia has already explained that site deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. You clicked past the warnings telling you that you will be unable to use that same WordPress.com address again (until at least two years have elapsed). If you have deleted a WordPress.com site I’m afraid it cannot now be restored. https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can set up a new free site with a slightly different address (which you have already done) or upgrade to a paid plan where you could use the same domain name but ending in .com instead of .wordpress.com (if it isn’t already taken).

Ok thanks. I did see the warnings but did not understand it this way. To me, it meant that my whole website was going to be deleted and that endivemole.wordpress.com would not exist anymore… it did not mean that I could not do it again…

Hi, @endivemole,
I’m removing the modlook tag from this thread for now, but if you have any other questions pertaining to this particular URL, feel free to contact us.
Thanks!
