Having problems adding photos to post

    When I try to add photos they don’t show up. I go to the first little icon after the “add media.” Click “choose files to upload.” Don’t add caption or description. Click “none” for link URL. o for order. Click “left” for alignment. “Medium” for size. Click “insert into post.” After that it is an empty box. I close out and nothing shows into my post. Could this be because I still use Windows 98 and it is too slow for WordPress? Or am I doing something wrong? Please help!

    What browser are you using? I’m using Windows 98 and Firefox; it works together, and FF is much better than IE for working with WordPress.

    You’re doing everything right, but I’m guessing from the error you’re using some variation of IE. If you switch to FF you probably won’t have that issue. You won’t be able to use the Flash uploader, but you can still use the Browser uploader just fine.

    If you don’t want to use FF or it still won’t post images, just upload as you are doing, but instead of doing your formatting there, just copy the URL it gives you and close the pop-up. Put it in the post using the Image icon, the tree. Format it once it’s in there via the Image icon and column alignment buttons.

    Oh thank you! I am using Firefox Browser. I have never had problems before, until a few days ago. I used your last suggestion for the Image icon/tree. Worked perfect.

    You’re welcome. Now I wonder why you’re having this problem. I’ve uploaded a ton of photos today, the most recent only a few hours ago, without incident.

    Try the Cookie Dance when all else fails: log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, do a full restart, go back in and try again.

    Only other thing I can think it might be is some kind of connection problem…to test, try using the Insert In Post button on an older image, something from the Media Library that went easily into the post before. If you get the same failure, report back.
