Having problems moving 1.8gb of media to self-hosted site

    I’m moving my WordPress.com blog to WordPress.org but it’s not importing all my images and other media. When I import the XML file using the WordPress importer plugin, it imported all the posts but only a small part of my media library. I figured the size of the library probably played a part but I don’t know what else to do.

    I contacted my host and they said no restrictions on the size of the files I can upload. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Hi there,

    The importer on your self-hosted (WordPress.org) site should pull all of your images over from your WordPress.com site. However, the staff here at WordPress.com don’t have the tools and access to troubleshoot imports to self-hosted sites.

    I’d recommend looking at the WordPress.org guide for Importing Content and, if that doesn’t answer your question, you can get more help with self-hosted sites in the WordPress.org forums.
