having problems with dashboard display.
-
After loggin into my account, I am unable to navigate anywhere, the site seems to be having a maintenance problem. The display is scrambled.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I am having the same problem trying to create or edit a post. The display is mostly blank with some text looking hyperlinks at the left.
-
I’ve been having the same issue all day. It’s also affecting the Widgets page to enable/disable them.
-
This can be an issue with monitors set to a resolution of less that 1024px wide. It appears that the minimum width for the inside of the browser window is about 963px before the sections at the right of the text area start to overlap the text area. The minimum width of the text area is set by the icon tool bar width.
Three suggestions:
1. If your browser window is not maximized, then maximize it at least in the width direction.
2. If your monitor is not set to at least 1024px resolution (in width) make that change.
3. If you cannot change your monitor resolution to at least 1024px (width) then between the navigation sections at the left of the screen you will see a light grey line with a dot and a triangle at the left end. Click that line or the grey dot and the sidebar navigation will collapse to only showing the icons which will give you more width for the text area and sections to the right of it. You can change it back later by again clicking on the little grey dot or the line between the sections. -
@sneakerera, log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.
@thebeaddreamer and hershey3, your questions were off topic for this thread. From now on, please do not hijack threads for different problems, create a new thread.

My blog looks grey, has been all day while it’s usually red. My dashboard is all messed up as well. I’ve cleared my browser cache and cookies but no luck. I logged on to another computer and it looks grey too. It’s driving me crazy. Help, please!
-
We can’t help if we cannot see the blog. Please ALWAYS provide a link to the blog when asking questions here in the forums.
-
@thesacredpath — I think they’re all the same problem, my guess is that the Dashboard CSS isn’t loading right, causing all the menus to display strangely and making some links not work.
-
All meaning sneakerera, thebeaddreamer and hershey3, anyway. And yes, I’ve logged out, cleared cache, quit the browser, forced reload, etc etc.
-
Could you tell us which browser you are using?
And is there a chance that you could use another one to check if the issue still occurs, maybe Firefox or Opera or Chrome?
Also, what is your internet connection like at the moment? I sometimes find things don’t display correctly when my connection is slow. Run a speedtest here: http://www.speedtest.net/
And last but not least are you running any plugins, such as AdblockPlus or NoScript which don’t have wordpress.com as an allowed site?
-
That screen shot was in Firefox, but it looks the same in IE7.
Speed should be good, I’m on a corporate network. But that tester is telling me “Latency test returned an error while trying to read the latency file.” Is that a problem on my end?
These guys ( http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ ) told me 29,171 kbps down and 2016 up.And I have Adblock, but only in FF and I did make wordpress.com an allowed site.
It was working fine earlier today.

Oh the other big point – I had a co-worker who has rights to the same blog log in on her computer with her account… same thing.
Also sorry but I can’t stick around — I appreciate any help you have and will check in later tonight or tomorrow.
-
29,171kbps down?! Holy hell, I’m jealous!
I don’t know enough about latency and if that’d affect it, sorry, but maybe one of the more tech savvy will be able to answer it.

Sorry, this is the first time I post here. Here is the address of my blog: http://www.mymaysa.wordpress.com
It’s still looking so grey and the dashboard looks horrible! Thanks for checking into it! -
The blog pages look grey with blue font. That is the only difference from the original look which is normally red. The dashboard on the other hand is totally off. Things are not aligned anymore, the font is different, the color is also different.
I have cleared my browser cache and cookies and I have restarted my browser. I have checked it on another computer at work, still looks the same.
Last night, checked the site at home and everything looked fine again.
What do I do next?

I am having a similar issue. When I go to edit pages or posts in the dashboard, I get a barebones html page with no CSS.
I have cleared cache and cookies, restarted etc to no avail. My monitor size is also set correctly.
This has been an issue for the past 2 days straight.
-
I reported the same problem to Support Wed and Thurs and was told to clear cache, etc. Support also said that the css wasn’t loading right.
The distortion seems to come and go, I see the same thing with both IE6 and FF3, and I don’t have the problem on other sites. I have Norton Anti-Virus but have had it for the last two years.
bzjeremy’s screenshot looks like the one I sent to Support, so maybe this isn’t just my problem. TIA
-
I’m having the same problem with both of my blogs… the dashboard looks like bzjeremy’s screenshot above, and the “add a new post” pages don’t seem to load any CSS at all. I’ve logged out, deleted cookies, and restarted, in FF3, IE7, Safari (for Windows), Chrome, and Opera. They’re all the same. This has been going on since yesterday.

There are a number of people having this issue and it is something we volunteers here in the forums cannot fix. You need to contact support directly at http://support.wordpress.COM/contact/ .
