Having products line up to collections. Obtaining customers.

I am a retired computer and networking analyst and I was looking for a project that could help others and make me a little extra income, possibly $3,000 per month. I have studied environmental issues since my undergraduate classes in the 1970s so with the Global Warming crisis and weather conditions showing we need a plan o action. Environmental issues are everywhere which is good if you have time to find it, but normal citizens do not have that time. The idea is to provide a central location for environmental safety and authentic news. I got involved with a company that said that could create a site for $5,000, They took $20,000 and left me with a basic Shopify website where I did most o the work. I canceled their service. I have been studying the Shopify manual to try and improve the site, but I have never built a website before. I have contacted the leading environmental non-profit organizations and they are on board to provide their latest research on the site. I have contacted the 100 top-reviewed environmental products companies to offer their products. This will allow the website a revenue source by receiving a fair profit from environmental products. I do not know how to tie their products to the site and only one at present has established an alliance. The site can be viewed at https://www.outdoorecoemoorium.com. The products I want to call Eco-Safe products. The products on the site were found in Ali Express suppliers under the search for environment outdoor products that ship within the United States. I am presently completing my doctorate n Organizational leadership. I have presented my proposal to the university and I expect to complete the doctorate by June 2023. I sent the info to Word Press because it was open architecture but I do not know if I can transfer my site from Shopify to Word Press. Unfortunately, my prior website experience cleaned out $20,000, so I do not no have the funds to start your program and I presently do not have any customers though I did try a few ads with Facebook and Google. I will need to build some revenue before I can use our Services. Any advice you can give would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Gary T. Payne

Hi Gary, I’m sorry you had a frustrating experience with your previous developer! Do you still have access to the Shopify site? I can’t access it at the link you shared.
If you do still have access, there are ways to import from Shopify into WooCommerce, either here or on your own installation. Your milage may vary depending on how they set it up, but it may be worth your time to at least get a backup that way before you lose access to the Shopify site.
And when you’re ready, I know there’s an AliExpress Dropshipping plugin that would probably work nicely for your needs. Here’s an article with more information on that.

If you don’t want to start with a full-blown cart system right now, have you thought about writing a site that includes reviews and lists of eco-friendly products, and then use affiliate links? You could write articles on ways to fight climate change and whatnot, too. Let us know your thoughts.
