Having some problems

Hi! I’m having some trouble with my WordPress site: thecapecdstoryteller.com. First of all, I noticed that something is really wrong with its formatting all of a sudden. The thumbnail picture I had downloaded is now suddenly reverted back to the stock thumbnail image. Also, my site’s theme is just gone. All the writing and content of my homepage is there, but it’s not in the theme I selected for it. Also, whenever I try to click to another page, it says the website is not secure and won’t let me see the page. Finally, I tried to get into my admin page, but it wouldn’t accept my username/password so I tried to use the ‘forgot your password’ option and it says that a confirmation link was sent, but I haven’t received anything in my inbox. I really need help.

  • Hi there,

What is the address of your site? There’s no site at http://thecapecdstoryteller.com/, and that domain does not appear to be registered.

Based on the issues you’re describing your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com – it is quite impossible for the theme on a WordPress.com site to go missing. You also don’t own any custom domains with us, I see no password reset attempts on the account you’re using to post here, and the only site in your account is the free and empty WordPress.com site, https://thecapecodstorytellercom.wordpress.com/

If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider, then the best place to ask for help is here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/

You might also need to contact your hosting provider for help.

You can find the password reset instructions for that version of WordPress here:
