Having to doublepost in Sight before post appears properly!
-
Hi there,
Hope anyone can help me with my problem.
I have to publish two posts in order for it to appear in my blog properly. One (sticky) post is to make it appear in my slider. The other one is to make it appear in the post overview. Now I keep having to create two posts for one “blog message”… which I am guessing is not how most people use WordPress.. I came across this problem using the theme ‘Sight’.
Anyone got tips of how to solve this problem / post like a normal person (I must be doing smt wrong..).
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you putting every post you publish in the slider? If so, that’s crazy … oops! I mean that’s not the intended and expected behavior.

Featured Slider
Sight displays up to 30 of your latest sticky posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts that have featured images http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ in a prominent slider on the front page. To add a post to the slider, mark it as sticky and give it a featured image.Sight featured images
Large: 640 x 290 in the Sticky posts slider
Small: 290 x 290 thumbnails are used on the home, category, tag, archives, and search pages. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sight/Setting a Featured Image http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image

The other one is to make it appear in the post overview.
Themes that have sliders are coded to not to duplicate the post displayed in the slider on the same page. What you are doing is working against how the theme is designed to operate. It’s not a bug in the theme.

Hahaha, no am not planning on putting everything in the slider timethief! I’ve only just started my blog yesterday so there’s one post there which I was using to test the features.
Too bad that you can’t have the same post displayed twice, but I do understand that it looks “double”..
