having trouble driving traffic to my site – am I posting correctly?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’ve only been posting my humor articles for a few months and I am not sure how to drive more traffic to my site. When I check the dashboard and stats, I never have referrers from other sites of search engine traffic. I am wondering if there are any suggestions for how I can better format or post to receive more traffic. I attempted to put meta tag in code per google webmaster tools to verify my site but it never works. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

    There is no single way to attract targeted traffic to your site. What brings readers who are interested or targeted in the content you have in your blog is the effective use of keywords in headlines, subtitles and in the body of the text and categories and tags.

    gere are suggestions from the support documentation.

    Here are the top 10 techniques for new bloggers who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rollings o to speak.
    * Write at least five high quality original major “pillar” posts of timeless value to readers.
    * Write 5 new posts per week minimum for at least 4 – 6 weeks.
    * Purchase a domain name.
    * Start commenting on other blogs.
    * Trackback and link to other authoritative blogs in the same niche in your blog posts.
    * Encourage comments on your own blog.
    * Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival.
    * Submit your blog to selected blog directories with high PageRanks understanding that joining directories in done to het backlinks as they provide very little traffic.
    * Submit original articles (no duplicate content) to article directories.
    * Become a guest author on blogs in your own niche with high PageRanks.

    I’m resisteing the urge to place a link to one of my blog posts after each of those points. I’m a blogging tips bloggers who blogs on how to become a better blogger, build a better blogs and promote your blog effectively. :)
