having trouble seeing nested pages
-
I am working on a new blog that I’d like to launch and am in the process of building the various pages I want on there. I’m trying to nest pages and while I have no problem creating the pages, when I go to the preview page the nested pages don’t show up. Due to the content I’m putting on the blog, the pages really should be nested for maximum organization. I’m currently using Pilcrow as my theme. Any help you could offer on this would be great!

Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?
Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you’re seeing this? You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library and post the link of it inside this thread.

Yes, I encounter the same problem in Chrome. And I don’t think sending a screenshot would be helpful when the screenshot would be of something not there. I have created “Page 1,” “Page 2,” and so on, and under “Page 1” I want “page A” to be seen. When I go to my Dashboard, I can see “page A” and it even lists “Page 1” as its parent. But when I view my actual blog, “page A” doesn’t appear.
I have created nested pages on my other blog and followed the same exact format, so I don’t what the problem could be. Does the Pilcrow theme support nested pages?

Hi there,
Could you try using the Custom Menus feature?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/You can create nested menus by following this section:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menusLet me know if you’re still running into this issue.

I didn’t have any problems creating the original pages, and I was able to assign them parent pages. But they just aren’t visible on the final blog as drop-down pages.
I’m not having trouble creating anything for the blog, only seeing it.

You haven’t actually built your menu at Appearance -> Menus yet. If you want the drop-downs to appear, you’ll need to build it as Chris described above.

With all due respect, everyone, I’m not trying to build menus. I’m just trying to nest pages. And I was and continue to be able to do this with my first blog here on WordPress. It just takes a few clicks, and I can see newly-nested pages on the main blog page. And it’s something I do fairly frequently, so I know it works. But for some reason in building this new blog, it isn’t working. Has something about WordPress changed that requires me now to build “menus” instead of creating new pages?

In order to nest the pages, you need to build a menu.
Your pages will not nest in the default menu of the theme you have chosen, so you need to override that with a menu of your own.
