Why aren't my photos aligning?

  I have been having difficulty for a while with attaching photos in my posts. The interface used to work perfectly, but now when I try to attach an image, it does not show up where it is supposed to.

  Whether I set the image to be on the left, right, or center, it always shows up in the center with all of the text that was to the side of the image in the draft ending up below the image when I publish. Additionally, if I add a caption to the image, things really get messed up (the size I set the image at changes, the caption “bleeds” out of the image boxt, etc.)

  I recently switched themes from “Vigilance” to “Pilcrow” hoping this would fix the problem, but the results are the same. I have given up adding images, but would really like to start adding them again. Are there any patches/fixes for this problem? Has anyone else experienced this?

  Can you give us a link directly to a post displaying the problem? I’d like to take look to see exactly what’s causing the trouble.

  I ended up deleting and re-working some of the more severely affected posts (without the images afterward), but here is an example post of one where I attempted to post the image to the laft with text appearing to the right:

  The caption wak OK in this one, but the image ended up in the center (I also set the image dimensions to be much smaller than they ended up).

  I’m still not entirely sure how it happened in the first place, but basically what you had was an image with a caption included as a caption to an image that wasn’t there. And, that caption-within-a-caption is what was causing all the chaos.

  When in doubt, delete the image and try again. :)

  I just wrote a new post and it happened again. The image shows up in the preview as being on the left, but as soon as I publish, it goes to the center. I deleted and tried again, and the same thing happened:

  I’d like to rule-out the possibility of a browser-specific issue.

  Would you mind trying again with Firefox or Chrome?

  BINGO!!!

  I used Firefox on my last post and had NO problems (thanks for the suggestion).

  Now that I think about it, I never had this problem until I upgraded from IE8 to IE9….might be a glitch in the browser.

  You’re welcome!

  As for IE 9, try temporarily disabling your add-ons (if any), as one of those could be causing the trouble.
