Having troubling posting comments on other blogs

Hello everyone. I’ve just launched my new WordPress page earlier this month and I’ve tried commenting on other blogs, but for some reason, it seems the comment does not go through. I’ve used WordPress before I made my new blog and I didn’t have this problem before. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.

It might be because WordPress’ spam filtering system (Akismet) has blacklisted your IP address due to spam generating from it in the past. It can happen if your ISP gave you an IP that used to generate spam. Check if you can release the current IP address and get a new one from your ISP.
Also, please make sure you don’t add more than two links to your comment, else it will usually be flagged.

Provided you are referring to submitting comments to posts on wordpress.COM sites, and not referring to comments on self-hosted wordpress.ORG sites, you can use the form here https://akismet.com/contact/ and select this when you do:
I think Akismet is catching my comments by mistake. -
The bottom line is that we need to have the URLs of the posts you submitted comments to in order to get Staff to examine exactly what’s going on.

I tried contacting Akismet.com and upon trying to recover my API, they say it’s been suspended. I don’t know if any of this is happening because I deleted my old WordPress and made a new one (slightly changing my domain name), but what should I do in this case? Thanks again.

Hi @daniellemesa, if you’re currently in touch with Akismet, are you able to continue working with them directly? That’s likely your best option.
Also, to clarify, are you using an API to make your comments?

Hi supernovia. I’m not sure how to contact Akismet directly and I don’t think I ever used an API for my comments since I’m not familiar with it. I did just download the plugin just now. What’s the best way to reach Akismet?

Okay, I didn’t see comments from you there.
Can you try commenting again and send a link to the page where you’ve commented? Feel free to go ahead and comment on your own site, too, since you’ll be able to control whether that goes into spam or gets deleted.

I tested the comments on my own website just now. It got through. I’ll try commenting again on the other blogs.
