Having your tagline show up on a search engine

Here’s my situation: I have already changed my tagline. But when I search for my blog on google, it says, “Janis the foodie/Just another wordpress.com site.” I don’t want the worpress.com stuff. I want my tagline to shown next to my blog title when it shows up on google’s search. What more do I need to do? Thanks for your help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can change you tagline here > Settings > General

    janistsai.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog.

Your username is linked to a deleted blog. Please consider linking it to the blog in question. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

The answer to your question is that Google and other search engines choose which snippets of information to display in the SERPs. We have zero input into this. It’s not a WordPress.com issue it’s an issue between yourself and the search engines. That being said I have noticed that optimized taglines are sometimes displayed. See here for some guidelines that may help. > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/
