  How can I add header to my theme without any plugins

  Hi there,

  Your site ‘mutualfundplanning.wordpress.com’ does have a header along with header image.

  I assume you wish to have Site Title in Header. There are 2 ways to add the site title
  1) Go to Settings > Site Title and edit your site title
  2) Go to Themes > Customise > Site Identity > edit your site title
