Thanks Yoav, the header and the background colour are back. But I still miss my original menu directly under the header! Please can you set back the original setting!?

My wife and I noticed the same thing on our blogs. We both use Twenty Ten. Here’s the current status, which I hope is helpful for the tech people working on this:
My blog – http://www.mannerofspeaking.org – is back to normal (I think). My image is back and the background colour is back.
My wife’s blog – http://www.healthcontinuum.org – has the image back but the background colour is still missing. In WP Admin, she can upload the background colour image and it shows in Admin, but it does not stick.
Hope this helps with the troubleshooting.
helper-ringostarr – Perhaps you could post the solution to getting the background colours that you emailed to a few WP users. Many thanks.

Thanks WP! Headers and Navigation working fine now – still can’t sort Background Colour though. Will wait until all sorted here before I try resort all my other blogs

Headers, Navigation and Background Image working fine on:
mynbacards.wordpress.com (The Contempt Theme) and muzykanalekcji.wordpress.com (The Morning After Theme).But on axunarts.wordpress.com (he Expound Theme) Header and Navigation working fine now but I can’t sort Background Image. Please, help.

Header and navigation reset in customising but cannot reset background colour which is BLACK and won’t change…. tried changing colour and tried adding background image – neither will save!
Black is NOT a good colour for a Childhood Cancer blog. Not even going to try sort all my other blogs until this one sorted. HELP!!

Ok, my background came back on its own, but my header had to be set again manually. It does seem to have stuck. This is in the Twenty Ten theme.
The background came back in my Visual theme blog as well, without my having to touch anything.
I don’t see anything else wrong. Thank you!

Why don’t post the solution to have back the background image? I’m tryinig to set it, with no results…

Had to laugh when some people suggested they were backing up their blog by cutting and pasting everything they wrote into Word.
I have around 2700 posts, 7500 images and almost 200 videos! I don’t think Word can handle over a million word blog!
Speaking of which, no bloody idea how I am going to find my background image, buried somewhere in the midst of the 7500 images. I was hoping WP would restore back to before it was broken.

Here are a couple tips if you are still having trouble with your site:
If you are having trouble resetting your custom header image or background color, you may need to switch to a different header/background and then switch back to your custom header/background.
If you are previewing the Custom Design features in your site’s customizer, you will need to exit that custom design preview (by clicking the “exit the preview” link at the top of the “colors & background” section) before saving your custom background settings.
I’m also catching up now with all of the posts made since helper-ringostarr replied last, and I’ll follow up with each of you here in this thread as I go. Sorry again for the trouble you experienced, and thanks for your patience while we sort this out for each of you!

@rachelmcr: it’s not working. Background is still the same. I can not add own picture. :(
