  Hi,

  I am using a free theme (Ecto) on wordpress. I am trying to upload my header image but very blurry. Is anyone able to help me get around this?

  Yes. Optimize the image for the web and size it to fit the exact specifications for the header image of your theme and then upload it. See https://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/cropper-or-proper-image-preparation/

  Ecto includes a unique treatment for the custom header and featured images to let you customize specific posts and pages. Go to https://wordpress.com/themes/ecto/ and that is where you will find the set-up instructions and image dimensions required by the theme. The custom header appears at 1440 by unlimited height.

  It looks like your original image is already a bit blurry:

  

  I suggest looking for a sharper image to get a better result.
