Header Customization in Theme
-
Hi,
I am currently using ‘Snaps’ theme. I want to do either of the following two things:
1. Reduce the height of Header image so my horizontal menu bar is visible without scrolling down.
2. Move my Header menu bar above the Header Image. Please let me know if any one of these is possible?
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @saurabhnavya, Snaps is actually designed for portfolios. If you intend to blog, you might want to pick another theme — and we do have several that can give you a nice look that is similar.
If you write blog posts as portfolio items, they won’t be published out as news items. So I recommend against that. Maybe you’d like https://baskervilledemo.wordpress.com/ instead? You will need to re-write your “portfolio items” as blog posts, but I think that will help you have better success in the long run.
If you want to stick with Snaps, you can get a somewhat shorter header by cropping the header image. Also, please give your site a title under My Site > Customize > Site Identity. You can hide the title by unclicking the box that says “Display title and tagline”. But you’ll want a site title in other areas, like on social media and search engines. So be sure to leave something in place.
Hopefully all of that information isn’t too overwhelming! I hope it helps. If you need more help, let us know.

Hi,
Thanks for responding. Actually, my blob/content would mostly contain pictures and that’s why I chose Snaps which looks good for posting lots of pictures with some content.
I will try to play around with Site title and cropping header image in Snaps. All the information you give is very helpful and I appreciate your help.
Thank you.

@saurabhnavya Okay. :) There are some blog themes that look good with pictures though. https://dyaddemo.wordpress.com is another, and https://cubicdemo.wordpress.com as well. I’d just recommend that first, since you’re more likely to be able to build a better following with a blog than with a portfolio. We just want to do what we can to help you succeed. Cheers!
