Header doesn't scale in mobile app

We are using the Expound theme and created a custom header. It looks great on the computer, but on mobile only part of the header shows. How do I make the header scale?

Expound is an responsive width theme. Responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

When using any responsive width theme we go here > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme.

Thanks for the response–all of that works fine. It’s the custom header that doesn’t scale. It just shows part of the header on my iPad and my Android. But the whole thing shows up in Chrome. In Firefox, a tiny bit of the left side of the header gets cut off. I’m not sure how to fix that.
    Thanks!

The issue has been reported to our theme developers. I’ll contact you once it’s been resolved.

    Thank you for your patience!

One of our theme developers has had a look. In Expound, the header image is a background image, meaning that it can’t scale in a cross-browser compatible way. The best custom header images in this theme and others like it (for example, Twenty Thirteen> are decorative background images. The image will be cropped for small viewports (not scaled down) to fit the available area fixed for height and width. This means the type of header images that work best with this theme are abstract or decorative images. We’ve added text to this effect to the Expound theme information page at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/expound/
