Header Font Size
-
I’m very new to this. Is there a way I can increase the font size of just my header – the blog title? When I added a typekit font it got very small. Is there something I can do without the CSS upgrade?
Also how can apply a typekit font to the subtitle of the heading? Right now I don’t see that option.
THanks!

Your custom image header does not contain any text/font. As I understand it TypeKIt fonts only allow you to change font families and not sizes. Changes to the size of the font in the Blog Title and tagline can only be made by purchasing the annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and doing the work yourself.
It’s important to know that regardless of which fonts you may wish to choose to jazz up your blog with — your browser and your visitors’ browsers can only use the fonts installed in the same computer. Obviously not every visitor to your blog will have the same fonts installed in their computers, so you can immediately see that problems will arise unless you choose to use common fonts.
If a reader does not have a specific font installed on his / her computer, the browser will determine which font is displayed. There are a very limited number of fonts (in English/Western languages) which are common for most operating systems/computers/browsers.
Lastly, I recommend that you reduce your tagline to no more than 67 characters including spaces if you want to increase the chance search engines indexing it and
displaying it as a “descriptive snippet”. -
While in print, fonts of a particular size will always display close to the same size side-by-side, that is not always the case on the web.
As TT says, to increase the size of the font you have chosen for your title would require the CSS upgrade and some CSS experience.
Take a look at the fonts over at Typekit and see if you can find one similar to what you are using and try it and see how the size looks with that font. You might have to try a few to find one that displays large enough.
