Header has suddenly disappeared

    Hi,

    it seems my header image has strangely disappeared, without me doing anything that might make it do so. I use custom CSS and have inserted my header image successfully a few months ago, and there hasn’t been any problems with the header until today. I’ve checked that the image I use as source for the header is still in my media folder here at WordPress, the CSS is as is should be and I haven’t done any other changes to my design today. Still, my header image has mysteriously disappeared, and now there’s only a black background. Any ideas as to what might cause this? My blog is: http://lostinaspotlessmind.com/ (and, yes, it is a wordpress.com-blog)

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hm, seems things are as they should be again. Perhaps it was just a glitch in the system or something. Let’s hope it stays this way :)

    I visited your blog right after your thread showed up, and I could see the header image alright. But the page takes too long to load (I get the black bg first, then the image), probably because of all the images. That can be a problem for visitors with a slow connection. You’d better reduce the number of posts per page, and upload images at a resolution of 72, optimized for the web.

    FWIW there have been several members (all have CSS upgrade) who have posted to the forum reporting this same issue today.

    @timethief: Thanks!

    (Don’t know the reason behind this issue; but in neuroses’ case I saw typical page-too-heavy behavior; I checked a couple of images, and they were both at 300dpi –completely unnecessarily, as you know–, so I thought I’d better drop the relevant suggestion anyway.)

    WordPress changed the custom CSS is applied… now it’s a generated .php file: “custom-css.php” I bet that what these members experienced was the transition from the old implementation to the new one.
