Header image

How do I stop WordPress sometimes using my featured image (which is designed to be the image shown on tweets and facebook posts) as my header image. I have a header image, which most of the time is what it uses, but sometimes it just decides to put the featured image there which I don’t want. I can’t find any setting for this. Please help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

This is a feature of the Twenty Eleven theme you’re using. That theme supports featured image headers, which means if a custom header is enabled on the site, any post or page with a big enough featured image will use the featured image as header image instead.

The theme doesn’t have an option to disable this, but as far as I know this won’t happen as long as your featured images are smaller than the required 1000px width for the header image.
