I am still very frustrated because I used to be able to put a different header picture for each blog, and it worked , they each have their own picture BUT with my 7th blog no matter what I try I cant put any picture except it reverts to the one on the home page. I have tried everything and spent countless hours …. should I give up and just forget customising each blog header from now on. It’s very very disappointing. clareseligman.com

What header image were you trying to set? I now see one with a flying bird.
Otherwise please try clearing out your browser cache.

Hi Kardotim, the flying bird is on the pages as a header but if you look at each post they have a different picture to match the topic of the story eg houses, boats, penguins etc which I did a few months ago but for the last few weeks I have tried to put in a new post and wanted to give it a picture and only the flying bird appears at the top of the post no matter how many millions of times I try to reset. Sometimes I set the new picture and then it replaces the flying bird on ALL the pages instead of just appearing on the one post. I just cant work out how I did the other 6 so successfully and now the newest one wont work. I do want the flying bird as the home page and on the pages for each of the categories 2000, 5000 and 10000 word stories BUT within the categories each story should have an individualised header photo like I was doing … until now.

I have just spent another 2 hours trying over and over again to fix the header image on the story called The Revolution and it is still just showing a flying bird (which is the header I want for the main pages NOT for the individual posts). Everytime I try to change it to have its own unique picture for the Revolution story the picture I choose wrongly replaces every flying bird as well (which is not my intention. I think WordPress has altered the system and my website does not have as many options as it used to have.

If your featured image doesn’t appear, please make sure that it meets the size requirements. It seems that the current featured image you have is too small. Your theme requires a featured image that is at least 940 x 198 pixels.

Hi Kardotim, I also found this on the wordpress site about ‘twenty ten’ which says what I am trying to do should be possible (well I know it was … but its not working now) , see what it says in the last sentence :
Twenty Ten comes with a selection of great header images. It’s easy to switch between any of the included header images or upload your own. You can even use a different custom header image for each post by including a Featured Image when you publish a new post. -
I have tried with several images just to see if I can get this procedure to work and the image is always successfully loaded up but its loaded onto every single page and I want it just to load onto that one post. I just want to put a special picture up as a different header for each post without changing the header which goes on the main pages like the home page. I used to do it just fine if you look at the other stories (posts) they all have their own header image without affecting the header image on the home page. BUT for the last month and countless hours of trying the picture meant to go on the post page only takes over the home page as well. It’s hopeless.
