I have resized the following header image numerous times pixel wise but each time it’s shows up too big to crop? Any suggestions?

    Hello!

You may try an image cropper:
    http://www.picresize.com/
    or
    http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

Can you confirm that by using an image resizer that the problem still exists?

Not sure what these are supposed to accomplish or how they will help? I tried them and still get the same thing. No matter what size I change the header to pixel wise, I still have to crop and it never works out.

Maybe I am not making myself clear.

If you look at my current header it’s very similar and I had absolutely no problem adding it. Now, there’s a problem and I am posting here because I cannot figure out what it is.

    Hm.

    1. If I understand correctly you are having a problem with resizing the header? If so, when I examine the header that you want:
    http://www.stoutstandards.com/images/stoutstandardslogo44.jpg
With what exists on your page:
    http://stoutstandards.wordpress.com/
It seems to me that the headers look similar.

    2. If not, are you trying to crop-out something on your header by editing it? Are you trying to make the header image smaller? Larger? Make your header image just say “Stout” and crop out “Standard”?
Can you clarify exactly what you want to accomplish? =)

No it’s somewhat different….see top of coin. My problem, once again, is that I cannot use the latest one and why I have no clue. Can someone, anyone help?

    Ahh I see.

Ok, it appears that Pilcrow theme has exact specifications regarding the theme layout. It appears to me you have a two-column Pilcrow Theme.
What I think needs to be done is for the logo in question to be adjusted to EXACT theme requirements of 770 by 200:

The custom header dimensions are 770 by 200 for two-column and 990 by 257 for wide layouts.

If you adjust the logo in question to the exact 770 by 200 specifications can you confirm that the theme will accept it as the header?

My theme is a three column layout and I have resized the photo in question numerous times and for whatever reason it still doesn’t work. I will figure out something. Thanks for your help….

I’ve gone ahead and tagged this for a staff follow-up.

    Hi there,

Sorry for the trouble you’re having with this! You mentioned that the header image always shows up too big to crop — do you mean that you’re not able to crop the image after you upload it?

When you’re using a wide layout in Pilcrow (like the three column layout), the custom header image is 990 by 257 pixels. If you can upload a header image in those exact dimensions, that’ll work best. If your header image is shorter than 257 pixels, it’ll prompt you to crop the image so the final image has that same ratio.

Rachel, this time around the new logo or header worked. It came up the same way I explained but suddenly at the bottom right I saw “skip cropping” or something along that line and voila, it was there. Not sure why I didn’t see this before however having spent so much time working with this…

Thank you all for your help…
