  I was just wondering if animated gifs are allowed to be header images and whether or not they would be animated. Also, I’m wondering if it is exactly allowed for the Contempt Theme.

  rotating = changing = animated

  note the gif must be the exact size you need for the header of contempt before you upload it:
  750 x 140

  Such a gif will slow down your load time quite a bit.
