Header Image
-
I am using Gateway Theme. It recommends I use a header image 2560 × 640 pixels. I created an image 2560 × 640 pixels and when I save it and then view the site my image has been blown up some and is cutting off the bottom. It does not look like the preview. Can anyone help me?

This is what I see https://leighgendarium.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/cropped-the-leighgendarium-2.jpg
What is being cut off at the bottom?
Please let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using and what your browser size is by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com -

I went back and redid the logo so it would look right.
I just put up how I want it to look and it is cropping the bottom of the image. I even made it 1024×256 px. It is cutting off part of the bottom.
Internet Explorer cuts off the entire bottom
Firefox cuts off some of the bottom
Google Chrome cuts off half of the bottom. -
Okay then. Sorry but you will have to wait for Staff help.
BTW I am on a PC with a windows 7 OS and running FF40.Which browser versions are you running?

Hi there,
The best custom header images for the Gateway theme are decorative background images. The theme crops the image (rather than scaling it down) to fit the available area in a given browser window or mobile device. This means header images that work best with this theme are abstract or decorative images, rather than images with text that might get cropped.

Hi there,
There isn’t a theme that’s exactly like Gateway except for how the header image works, but you can search our theme showcase for other themes with the features that are most important to you.
Another option, if you’re interested, is to customize the Gateway theme’s design using Custom CSS. That way you can keep using the Gateway theme but customize this one part of it using CSS. Custom CSS is part of the custom design features included in the WordPress.com Premium plan, which you can upgrade to on your plans page.
