Header Image and Image Sizing
-
Hi – I recently started a blog and changed to the Linen theme. I have two questions: 1) The site was working perfectly and now my header image is not appearing. I tried refreshing the cache / resetting Safari on my Mac and reuploading the image, both of which did not work. 2) When I changed to the Linen theme, all of my images got smaller and are now appearing quite tiny. I am manually adjusting them, but is there any way for them to appear more real size? Thanks for your help! My blog is containingtupper.com. Thanks again, Althea

Hi there!
Please see below:
The site was working perfectly and now my header image is not appearing. I tried refreshing the cache / resetting Safari on my Mac and reuploading the image, both of which did not work.
It looks like you were able to get this figured out by adding the image as a site logo here:

Can you let me know if the header is looking how you would like it to now?
When I changed to the Linen theme, all of my images got smaller and are now appearing quite tiny. I am manually adjusting them, but is there any way for them to appear more real size?
Can you point me to where your’e seeing the tiny images on your site? I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to. Once I know, I’ll be able to help more!

Thanks for responding, Jeremey! Yes, I fixed the header image and it is exactly as I need it to be. Regarding the second problem with the image sizes, the specific page(s) I am referring to are the post pages — one example is here: http://containingtupper.com/2014/08/30/marriedinmarfa-it-got-real/
At the top of the post, the thumbnail image is very small. Also, when I create my posts and add new images, although I select “Large” size for each image, they post to the blog as thumbnail images. I have to go in manually and resize them to “Custom” size for them to show up normally. Also, on the site homepage, is there any way to make the thumbnail images any larger (see: http://containingtupper.com — the image to the left hand side of each post). Thanks!! -
Hi!

At the top of the post, the thumbnail image is very small. This is being caused by the small content width set under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS -> “Content Width”. If you erase that small number there, it should be back to normal.
Also, when I create my posts and add new images, although I select “Large” size for each image, they post to the blog as thumbnail images.
This should be fixed by the Content Width step above.
Also, on the site homepage, is there any way to make the thumbnail images any larger (see: http://containingtupper.com — the image to the left hand side of each post).
This is going to be a bit tough. The theme automatically pulls out a cropped version of the image that is 94px x 94px. So, if we blow the image up too large, it will be distorted. There’s no way to change the cropped size of the featured image so I don’t think this would be a good idea. However, if you want to up it to 110 or 120px, let me know!
