Header image appears after deleting

  I have permanently deleted a header image and it still appears. Tried several times. Logged out and back in. Still there.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That is the logo and is good.

  Maybe it’s just my dashboard? At this moment, the larger header image still appears in my blog even though it has been deleted. Strange. I will reboot my laptop. Might be a glitch.

  Go to your Media Library at > Dashboard > Media > Library and delete the header image you do not want to use there.

  Did that already. There isn’t anything there. Not sure what I’m missing.

  Note…just my logo is there, which is ok. I don’t see the larger header image anywhere so I can delete it. It only appears in the blog.

  I can send you snapshots if that will help.

  In order for any image to display as a header on your blog you have to upload it to WordPress.com servers ie. into your Media library in order for it to be displayed.

  First clear your browser cache so you are not viewing cached copy.

  Then go here and delete the image > Dashboard > Media Library

  Yes, that is the one.

  I clearing my browser cache. Returned to the blog, still no image to delete, except the one I want to keep, (the logo).

  Rebooted the laptop, header image still there.

  Do you think it is saved elsewhere?

  As that images states it has been cropped it seems you failed to delete the original image that you uploaded and all the copies of it from your Media Library.

  Go to > Appearance > Header
  http://venturcobooks.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header

  and scroll down to:
  Remove Image
  This will remove the header image. You will not be able to restore any customizations. Click the Remove Header Image button.
  Scroll down click “save changes”.

  I have to go through “Appearance, Customize, Header”. Not sure if that makes a difference.

  I have been there several times, and there is nothing in the header. No image. It tells me there is “No Image Set”. If I enter it anyway I only see the logo as an uploaded file.

  The only image I have is the logo, which I want to keep. I have nothing else to delete in either the Media Library, or in the Header.

  Is there anything you (or anyone) can think of for me to do to remove the header image? So far I have:

  1. initially deleted 2 images (at that point the image did not appear in the header)
  2. the next time I viewed the site, the header had returned. I checked the Appearance, Customize, Header location, and the image in question was not there.
  3. Went to the Media Library. The only image in the Library is the Logo, which is fine. The Header image was not there. Went back and forth from the Library, to the Appearance several times to check. Image was not there.
  4. Cleared the browser cache
  5. Rebooted my laptop
  6. Checked everything again

  Header image still appears in blog, but the image is not available for me to delete.

  Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am missing something, just don’t know what that is.

  Any help is welcome.

  This image https://venturcobooks.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/cropped-cropped-house-on-wheels.jpg and/or any header image has to be in your Media Library http://venturcobooks.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php or it could not be displayed on the blog.

  I will subscribe right away. Thx! Believe me if the image was visible to me, I would delete it in a heartbeat. How frustrating.

  Hi!

  You should be able to remove the header image here:

  https://venturcobooks.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header

  From that page, just click “Remove header image”. That should delete the broken image from your header section.
